Dyslexic? Creative? Stuck?

Please note, this event is now fully booked. We have a cancellation list, so please get in touch if you'd like to be added, or if you want to be notified of similar events in the future.

Dyslexia Scotland is hosting a special event for artists and creatives around developing their employability opportunities and connections in Creative Industries and related roles.

In recent months we’ve had a surge in referrals to our employment service from arts graduates and people who want to work in the creative sector but are struggling to get any kind of paid work, struggling with funding applications to support their creative discipline and generally feeling isolated. As a result, we want to bring to together dyslexic adults with an interest in the creative sector, to provide a chance to develop your networks and discover support, resources and strategies to help you in your life, work and creative  practice.

This event aims to help you

  •  build positive professional and personal networks

  •  learn or discover something new to help you in your career

  • feel inspired, motivated and optimistic about your career

  • meet other dyslexic creatives with shared interests and challenges

The day is organised by Dyslexia Scotland with special guests Portfolio Oomph and others to be confirmed. The event will include practical activities, talks and guidance on applying for jobs, tips and strategies for funding applications, useful organisations and resources, meeting other dyslexic creatives, sharing ideas for developing your creative practice with dyslexia and exploring potential collaborations with others.

The event is on Wednesday 21st March, 10am – 3pm, Stirling. It’s free to attend, but you will need to book a place. Lunch is provided.

There are only 20 places, so please get in touch as soon as possible if you’d like to attend.

If you’d like to know more about the event, or want to book a place, please contact katie@dyslexiascotland.org.uk    01786 435128
